OUR MISSION

Husky House is committed to supporting the individual growth of the whole child.
​Through connection and collaboration we nurture the development of responsible, independent, creative and thoughtful citizens.

Our Program

We are located in Lafayette on the beautiful Happy Valley School campus. We are approximately one mile from the central Lafayette BART station on Happy Valley Road. Children in our program enjoy air conditioning in either of our two buildings where cooking, arts & crafts, computers and games all take place. We also have access to three on-campus playgrounds, the school gym, classrooms and library.

We’re a year round, school-age, state licensed, non-profit center. We offer a before & after school enrichment program during the school year and a summer camp. Freedom of choice is encouraged within an age-appropriate structure. Children choose daily between arts & crafts, outdoor games, cooking projects and homework. Our talented staff is composed of college students and graduates with backgrounds in this field.

Our staff

Our staff is composed of child development professionals, college students and graduates with backgrounds and/or degrees in child development, psychology, physical education, fine arts, and teaching. These talented individuals have also had prior practical experience in a variety of work settings with children. In areas of staff expertise and ratios of staff to children, we exceed the standards established by our licensing agency.
